Lately, I’ve come to realize something: Allowing yourself to change for the better is hard. You essentially have to reprogram who you are (or who you think you are), your thoughts, your beliefs, your pleasures, your doubts, etc. This is the task I have bestowed upon myself.
It is quite simple really: I want to become a better me. No, this isn’t so I can be a better friend, or a better coworker, or a better spouse (if life presents me with a second chance), although those things will subsequently happen due to my initial change. As odd as this may sound, I simply want to “see” better, or clearer. Most of the time, we only see what’s in front of us. But there is much more to see than that.
The Matrix said it best: “Why do my eyes hurt?”
“You’ve never used them before.”
